Tonights The Bachelor episode begins with Clayton Echard, the new Bachelor on his way to his mother’s house to tell him that he is going to be on the show. His mother is thrilled, she hugs him. Clayton is a mid-west boy from Missouri and he can’t wait to get married and have children.
Jesse Palmer is the new host of the Bachelor for season 26, stepping into Chris Harrison’s shoes. Jesse appeared on season 5 of the Bachelor and he is a former NFL and CFL player. Clayton only got eight minutes airtime on the Bachelorette when he appeared on Michelle’s season, but he truly believes int his process more than anybody else. He knows he can find his wife here, he knows the process works. He is ready for that life long commitment, he is nervous, he has never dated thirty women before.

Salley is having a hard time, this was supposed to be her wedding day and both she and her fiancé decided to break their engagement. She had everything done, the dress, the flowers, she was ready to get married. She is really having a hard time and wants to speak to Clayton before she gets in the limo. It is five hour before the limo arrives and Salley knocks on Clayton’s door. She tells him that she had an open mind and she was excit4ed, but then she got there and the weekend has been extremely hard for her, she was engaged in the past and she was supposed to get married yesterday. She feels weird being there, the weekend of her wedding – there are tears in her eyes. He says he understands, he thought that he found his person and went through a hard time as well. He likes what he sees from her, there is something special. He wants her to be ocfident being there, she is a great woman and they could have something there. He gets up for a minute, when he returns he tells her that he wants her there and to prove it, he gives her a rose and asks her if she will stay and accept it. Salley tells him that as much as she wants to accept the rose, her heart is not in it right now and she can’t.
It’s time to welcome the new Bachelor, Clayton. He arrives in the limo and is greeted by Jesse. The next limo arrives and Sarah walks out, then Lyndsey, Genevieve, Ency, Susie, Claire, Serene, Teddi who wants to be his teddy bear, Tessa, Daria who is wearing a rose necklace because she is hoping for a rose. The second limo arrives and Kate comes out and makes him have a shot with her, Siearra, Melina jumps right into his arms wearing moon shoes, Hailey, Jill who brought the ashes of her ex boyfriend, Marlena, and Jane arrives in a vintage car. Holly is 63, she says she wants to introduce him to Rachel, Ivana who won’t talk, Kira is a doctor who shows up in her jacket with lingerie underneath, Rianna shows up in a cowboy hat, Eliza shares a sausage with Clayton, Gabby brought a pillow with Clayton’s face on it, Elizabeth brought a whip, Hunter brought a snake, Samantha shows up in a bathtub with champagne.
Cassidy shows up in a mini children’s vehicle, Shanae shows up in a monster truck and that is it for the girls. Jesse reminds Clayton that there is a first impression rose tonight, have fun and look for his wife. Clayton is happy, but really nervous. He tells the women that he is just a guy from a small town and he is excited to be there. He makes a toast to new beginnings, stepping out of their comfort zones and to hopefully never losing sight why they are all there, to find love.
Clayton first spends time with Susie, she feels a spark and hopes he does too. Elizabeth brought a 100 year old photo of her grandparents because everything happens for a reason. Teddi is excited to kiss Clayton, but she is holding back on night one – but Clayton doesn’t hold back, he leans in and kisses her.
The one on one time with the women continue and Clayton is kissing a lot of them. Claire gets annoyed that she is interrupted when she is speaking to Clayton and when she goes back in the house, she tells the other women that she hates him. Eventually it gets around the house, and Clayton, so he confronts Claire. Clayton send her home and tells all the other women why he did what he did. One lady that Clayton wanted to spend time with was Rachel, he does and she is really hopeful for the first impression rose. Teddi gets the first impression rose, he tells her that there is a clear connection between the two of them. The cocktail party is over.
The Rose Ceremony begins and the first rose goes to Serene, Susie, Eliza, Rachel, Ency, Sarah, Kate, Cassidy, Elizabeth, Kira, Shanae, Sierra, Mara, Marlena, Genevieve, Melina, Gabby, Jill, Lindsay W., Hunter and Tessa.
Eliminated: Daria, Hailey, Ivana, Jane, Lindsay, Samantha and Rianna.
