Now, CyberSmile has appointed Normani as their Diversity Ambassador, where she will take action against all forms of serious online bullying, including racial, gender and religion based hate. Scott Freeman, the CEO of CyberSmile, is excited to welcome Normani to the team.

“Everybody at Cybersmile is delighted to welcome Normani as our official Diversity Ambassador, to have somebody with real life experience of the damage online abuse can do combined with a determination to make a real difference makes her involvement a dream come true for us. We’re all very excited to start working together.”

Here’s what Normani had to say about her new partnership with CyberSmile:

Unfortunately there is a lot of abuse and negativity online, by working with Cybersmile I want to raise awareness of the support that is available to people affected while playing my part in contributing to a kinder and more positive internet for everybody. I am making this announcement on my Twitter as a statement to never let anyone run you away! No one has the right to make where you go or what you do uncomfortable. It’s important to stand up to all forms of bullying and it’s even more important for those who are around you to be just as courageous and stand with you! Together, we can put an end to the hate and promote only positivity and love #POSITIVITY.”

She also had a special video message for her Twitter followers:

Cyberbullying is a serious and real issue in today’s digital world. Cruel hate and torment is not something that anyone should ever have to deal with, whether or not they’re a celebrity. Every person should be able to use the Internet and social media and feel part of a safe and welcoming community, free of threats and violence.

The hate Normani received was a disrespectful and unacceptable escalation of some non-existent drama. It is horrible that she had to go through this, but she has come out the other side stronger than ever, ready to stand up against all of this unnecessary hate.

We look forward to seeing the wonderful initiatives that come out of this new partnership, and hopefully see it spark some positive change on the Internet. You can find out more about CyberSmile here.
