Brad Pitt has reportedly found the resurfaced social media broadside from his son, Pax Jolie-Pitt, “depressing”.

Pax blasted his estranged father as a “world class a**hole” in an Instagram post on Father’s Day 2020. The 19-year-old also described the actor as a “terrible and despicable person”.

“Happy Father’s Day to this world class a**hole!! You time and time again prove yourself to be a terrible and despicable person,” began the message, which The Daily Mail dug up on Monday.

“You have no consideration or empathy toward your four youngest children who tremble in fear when in your presence,” Pax reportedly continued, referring to Zahara, 18, Shiloh, 17, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 15.

Despite the remarks, it’s been claimed that Pitt still has “great respect” for all his children, and believes the allegations to be nothing more than a “depressing smear”.

One of the Oscar-winning actor’s close friends told the The Sun: “Brad has great respect for all of his children and it’s depressing to see this dragged up.

“It’s frustrating to see Brad being painted as some kind of ‘bad person’ when it’s far from the truth.

“He chooses to keep a dignified silence and that speaks volumes.”

Another insider told Page Six Pitt is frustrated that such allegations “impact the whole family”.

“This is just unfortunate that people would keep trying to bring kids into things,” a source told Page Six.

“It’s been a long seven years and it’s unfortunate when people unnecessarily raise issues from so far in the past … and don’t take into consideration the impact it has on the whole family.”

The source added that Pitt has not referenced his children in the media regarding his 2016 divorce from Angelina Jolie or their ongoing custody battle — and he will continue to remain silent.

In court documents obtained by Page Six in October of 2022, Jolie, 48, claimed her ex-husband “choked one of the children and struck another in the face” and “grabbed [her] by the head and shook her” during the infamous plane ride.

Pitt has maintained his innocence.

Furthermore, the FBI investigated him for the alleged child abuse but decided against pursuing criminal charges.

The star’s relationship with his children came into question just last week when Zahara refrained from using “Pitt” in her name during her Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority induction at Spelman College.

Instead, she introduced herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie.”

Back in 2021, Us Weekly reported that Maddox also “doesn’t use Pitt as his last name on documents that aren’t legal and instead uses Jolie”.

“Maddox wants to legally change his last name to Jolie, which Angelina has said she doesn’t support,” an insider said.

Jolie and Pitt were legally married from 2014 and 2019 after getting together in 2005.
